The concept of The Renaissance Period (circa 2021) is to intersect innovation in menstrual health and culture to create personalised options for our collective better health and lifestyles.
As I have extreme periods due to endometriosis I must rely on several forms of panacea for the pain. My pain management formula is combined with learned techniques through my mental health journey: soothing baths with essential oils, CBD oil to digest or in massages, a TENS machine which breaks up nerve pain, and lots of musical stimulation.
Overall, I take the approach of immersing myself in different experiences according to my mood. I read, write, create, listen to new music, while stimulating my mind in ways that distract me from the pain.
But the products I require for the actual menstruation during this time is completely varied. I understand everyone has their own ways to manage this battle and fortunately more options are available than ever before (to those who can access it).
I started to do research. I started thinking there must be a socialised way to destigmatise menstruation and gain access to new and alternative resources while learning ways to help others in marginalised communities.
I started questioning “how could we intersect all these concepts to support this mission?”#period
